  • The parties each create a login for their CalDisso account. This login will allow them to provide information, and review documents, settlement notes and reports 24/7, they will also fill out a basic Questionnaire. This provides their attorney/mediator with an outline of what legal issues need to be addressed during the mediation process. The first 1 hour mediation appointment will be set.

  • The first meeting is a one hour session during which the parties will have their first opportunity to meet their attorney/mediator. The attorney/mediator will explain the entire process and what needs to be done to obtain a California Divorce.

    This includes but is not limited to:
    (i) The filing of the Petition and Response which begins the six month waiting period required by California before a Divorce Judgment can be made final;
    (ii) The state required exchange, by both parties, of financial disclosures which include an Income and Expense Declaration (Judicial Counsel Form FL150) and a Schedule of Assets and Debts (Judicial Counsel Form FL142);
    (iii) In cases involving children the preparation and filing of a Declaration Under Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act (UCCJEA) (FL-105);
    (iv) The preparation and filing of the Judgment and related documents known commonly as the Judgment Package.

  • California Divorce Law requires that the parties exchange all relevant financial information before their divorce can be finalized.  The
    parties will do this work at home prior to the first 2 ½ hour substantive dive into the legal, financial and custodial issues in the case. If necessary CalDisso can provide online paralegal assistance in helping either or both parties prepare and exchange these documents.

  • This is where the substantive work happens. The parties have met with the attorney/mediator, they have exchanged the necessary Disclosures and now using spread sheets, XSPOUSE support calculators, our proprietary agreements, and most importantly, the guidance of our experienced attorney/mediators you begin working through the issues. At the conclusion of each session the attorney/mediator will create a memorandum which includes what progress has been made and what additional information might be needed. It is during these sessions in which final agreements are made. The memorandums and agreements will be available on the CalDisso portal for review 24/7.

  • CalDisso will prepare the final Judgment in ancillary documents and have them filed with the court.

Our goal is to support individuals in reaching a settlement that is convenient, cost-effective, and
tailored to their unique needs, while avoiding the stress, expense, and adversarial nature of
court proceedings. With our process, using our experienced divorce attorney/mediators, we
ensure a process that is respectful, transparent, and focused on results.
